Freedom Fibre’s Environmental Initiatives
In partnership with the UK government’s Project Gigabit, Freedom Fibre is rolling out its lightning-fast, full-fibre network to homes and businesses across North Shropshire and Cheshire.
Full-fibre is the future and upgrading to this broadband technology is crucial to future-proof both internet and phoneline services in your home and ensure seamless, high-speed connectivity.
As part of Freedom Fibre’s Project Gigabit contracts, and as part of our wider CSR (corporate social responsibility) strategy, we will be implementing a range of environmental initiatives across North Shropshire and Cheshire. These initiatives seek to support the environment of these areas, and ensure the rollout of Freedom Fibre’s broadband network reduces its carbon emissions as we work towards becoming a net zero company. Examples of these initiatives may include:
-
Litter pick kits will be made available to parishes within the intervention area in Shropshire.
-
Upon completion of the build, a sapling tree will be made available to Parish councils in Shropshire for every new telegraph pole installed.
-
Freedom Fibre will appoint a waste contractor to report on how much waste was recycled.
-
Freedom Fibre will work with build partners and major suppliers to create and implement a sustainability policy.
-
During stages two and three, Freedom Fibre will ensure all vehicles working on the project have a net-zero carbon impact.
