Content Executive – Irlam, Manchester

The Role

Working within the Comms & Marketing team, you will be responsible for helping to define and deliver a content strategy to support wider marketing objectives and ultimately deliver against the business’ ambitious growth targets.

As an ambassador of our brand, you’ll ensure that all customer-facing content and activities align with the FFL Company values and brand image, culture, and tone of voice.

With a creative eye for design and love of innovative copywriting, you will plan, manage, and deliver the business’ content calendar for social, website and print media.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing Executive in delivering the content strategy, ensuring this aligns to the overall marketing strategy

  • Support the delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns in accordance with build timelines, and in conjunction with partners and internal stakeholders

  • Regularly produce fresh and engaging copy, imagery and video using a variety of tools and software packages, tailored for various B2C demographics and audiences, as well as B2B audiences

  • Manage external advertising activities including liaising with third party suppliers, creating proposals, and managing timelines and delivery of artwork

  • Identify social trends and seek out opportunities with FFL stakeholders and partners to produce fresh content across current FFL platforms and propose new platforms and media strategies

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Comms & Marketing team and wider teams within the business to generate content ideas, encourage engagement with marketing activities and promotion of the FFL brand

  • Support with the planning and delivery of B2C events, social value campaigns, internal value projects and local engagement activities, working in conjunction with partners and internal stakeholders

  • Produce SEO-optimised content to improve search rankings and drive organic traffic to the FFL website, and exploring/managing PPC and other digital advertising opportunities

  • Ensure all marketing collateral is on brand, kept up to date and appropriate levels of stock are kept and replenished for various events and marketing activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)

  • Experience writing both long and short form copy for a range of media platforms

  • Experience with image editing, design and producing or coordinating the production of print and digital media

  • Good working knowledge of social media platforms and how to create appropriate content for each

  • An understanding of SEO and digital marketing best practices including AdWords and PPC advertising

  • A good understanding of asset management practices and file formats (desirable)

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva

  • Knowledge of artwork design and specifications for print and digital media (desirable)

  • Excellent written English skills and a passion for creating innovative content and marketing campaigns

  • CMS experience such as Wordpress and/or Wix

  • Ability to liaise effectively with third party suppliers and stakeholders to ensure artwork deadlines, specifications and internal content calendar deadlines are met

  • A strong ethic of business process improvement and a drive to define and innovate operational marketing processes

  • Excellent IT skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office products)

  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.


  • English literature or language GCSE minimum

  • Relevant University Degree (desirable)
