The main purpose is to provide technical and team leadership to a wide range of IT development projects, setting team goals, leading technical solutions, and reporting on progress. This is a hands-on role, so development experience is a key requirement.
Key Result Areas
Conceptualising and prototyping software solutions based on outline requirements provided by others. This might involve API mock-up, performance testing of critical resources, User Interface skeletons, database mock-ups etc...
Working with internal stakeholders to refine requirements through workshops, demonstrations, and other forms of stakeholder involvement.
Developing fully formed designs that are captured in a mixture of documents, diagrams and mock-ups.
Organising the workload of a small group of Developers (typically four). Developers will typically be working with our workflow system (Agiloft), business logic (implemented in Java or Python) or API integration (also Java/Python).
Arranging regular show/tell sessions for stakeholders and the internal development teams.
Working with a separate test team to prove the correctness of implementation. Testing will be automated where possible, however there is still a role for manual intervention; especially where we are trying to “break early”.
Assisting with staff selection and related HR issues.
Mentoring junior staff.
