Freedom Fibre’s Social Value Initiatives
In partnership with the UK government’s Project Gigabit, Freedom Fibre is rolling out its lightning-fast, full-fibre network to homes and businesses across North Shropshire and Cheshire.
Full-fibre is the future and upgrading to this broadband technology is crucial to future-proof both internet and phoneline services in your home and ensure seamless, high-speed connectivity.
As part of Freedom Fibre’s Project Gigabit contracts, and as part of our wider CSR strategy, we will be implementing a range of social value initiatives across North Shropshire and Cheshire. These initiatives seek to support the social and economic ambitions of these areas, providing resources to help underrepresented groups or those facing barriers to employment. Examples of these initiatives may include:
-
Opening a Shropshire-based warehouse.
-
Networking events to promote local businesses and business people.
-
Hosting online ‘skills sharing’ webinars to equip those facing barriers to employment with key skills to help find employment.
-
Working with our internet service provider partners to introduce a social tariff scheme.
-
Work experience opportunities targeted at young people facing barriers to employment.
-
A graduate and apprenticeship scheme.
-
Working with build partners to recruit, train and deploy local people throughout the build contract.
