The Freedom Fund launched in 2022 has supported 65+ projects with nearly £25,000 in grants across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and North Shropshire.
We’re proud to have contributed to projects from Irlam to Shrewsbury, creating a lasting legacy.
The Fund provided grants for a range of projects such as community orchards and gardens, solar panels, and habitat improvement projects.
Non-profit community groups within our build footprint were able to apply for funding to support their environmental projects. Projects must have met two of the below criteria:
-
Contributes to cleaner air.
-
Contributes to cleaner and plentiful water.
-
Supports plants and wildlife to thrive.
-
Reduces the risk of harm from environmental hazards such as flooding and drought.
-
Uses resources from nature in a sustainable and efficient way.
-
Enhances the beauty and heritage with the natural environment, and engagement with it.
-
Mitigates climate change.
-
Minimises waste.
-
Manages exposure to chemicals.
-
Enhances biosecurity.
