Freedom Fibre Brings its Lightning-Fast Full-Fibre Broadband Network to Gresford
The Freedom Fibre team have hit the ground running in 2023 with plans to bring their lightning-fast, full-fibre network to the Welsh town of Gresford.
The £1.5M investment into the digital infrastructure of the area will benefit the 4,600 homes and 250 businesses who are currently relying on the old copper network to supply their broadband.
The investment into Gresford’s digital infrastructure supports the North Wales Economic Ambition board’s plans for economic growth. The report details the board’s vision for North Wales in 2035, which includes an optimised digital strategy that will aim to “Confirm North Wales’s position as a UK hub of technology excellence.*”
By providing residential speeds of up to 900MB/s, Freedom Fibre’s lightning fast, full-fibre broadband will directly support this initiative and provide significant value to residents, businesses, and the North Wales economy. Speaking on the upcoming build in Gresford, Freedom Fibre’s Customer Operations Director, Marie Danby, said:
“Expanding into Gresford has been a great opportunity for us to widen our reach of our full fibre network and continue with our ambition to deliver a lightning-fast broadband network without leaving anyone behind. We are only able to do this with the support and ambition of the community and the councils, and we look forward to rolling out network to more neighbouring towns and villages in Wales and the North West.”
In addition to supporting the local economy, Freedom Fibre’s full-fibre broadband will also help future proof the homes and businesses of Gresford against the UK government’s upcoming copper switch off, by providing residents with broadband that is faster and more reliable than the current Copper network (FTTC) and allowing customers to connect and use multiple devices without an impact on speeds.
