Freedom Fibre - Connecting The Community An exciting local company, founded only last year, have really ‘hit the ground running’ and are on the look-out for motivated individuals to join their dedicated workforce based in Cadishead. 'Freedom Fibre' started life in November 2020 and are based on the Northbank Estate. Their vision is to take fibre off the beaten track, not just in the cities, providing fast, reliable connectivity with the best possible customer experience. Their mission is to create an affordable, optical fibre network which will last for generations. Broadband in the UK is now at the absolute limit of speeds that can be delivered through current copper wire technology. Openreach and OFCOM have already announced that copper will be withdrawn from 2025 and companies like Freedom Fibre Fibre are building networks to replace them. Freedom Fibre is committed to driving change across our local area and beyond. They partner with Internet Service Providers like Talk Talk to optimise the UK's fibre network. With their combined knowledge and expertise, they innovate and challenge conventional thinking to deliver an inclusive, high-speed fibre infrastructure. Talking to Lesley Segelity, HR Manager, about the culture within Freedom Fibre, she explained "We value energy, ideas and consideration for everyone and everything we touch in our work; but most of all, we enjoy what we do and are focused on making a difference". Freedom Fibre is growing at a rapid rate. Along with recruiting experienced staff, they are keen to develop their own talent having recently taken on four apprentices to join their 'hands-on' 15 months apprenticeships. More opportunities like these are already in the pipeline and will be advertised soon. Eighteen-year-old apprentice Telecoms Field Operative, Harry McManaman said, "I was just about to start an electrical apprenticeship, which I then lost due to the Pandemic. Getting the apprenticeship with Freedom Fibre has enabled me to get my life back on track after all the issues of the last year." Fellow Telecoms Field Operative apprentice Darren Burns age 32 added, "I was working in a glass manufacturer, this apprenticeship offers me the chance to do something interesting and rewarding with a forward-thinking company. I was nervous but also excited when I started and am really enjoying learning the trade." Freedom Fibre – Here For All The Community.
