Freedom Fibre involved in Leigh Digital Inclusion pilot

This week Freedom Fibre CEO, Neil McArthur, chatted with Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, following his formal launch of Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s latest and largest digital inclusion pilot at Connected Britain 2022.

During the launch, Andy Burnham said, "We're bringing together five of the UK's biggest internet service providers with five social housing providers from across our 10 boroughs to tackle digital exclusion within social housing settings."

Leigh is one of the areas within the Wigan borough where this project is being trialled, and with Freedom Fibre’s full fibre network currently being rolled out here in Partnership with TalkTalk, the team are delighted to be able to get involved in this important project to fix the digital divide.

The pilot is providing a sustainable solution to getting social housing residents across Greater Manchester online and benefitting from the digital world. Freedom Fibre’s company ethos reflects this important purpose, believing that high-speed and reliable broadband connectivity should be available to everyone, no matter their location or situation.
