Freedom Fibre Looks to the Future After the Successful Completion of the VX Fibre UK Merger

A team meeting with a neon swoosh

Freedom Fibre and VX Fibre have completed their merger following regulatory approval of the deal signed last December.

The new merger brings together the VX UK and Freedom Fibre FTTP Networks to create a 300k premise footprint under the Freedom Fibre wholesale business, in a move that strengthens Freedom Fibre’s position within the AltNet sector and helps accelerate the rollout of its lightning-fast, full-fibre broadband network.

The network will be offered to residential and business customers through a range of internet service provider (ISP) partners, along with the wholly owned Retail ISP LilaConnect that was acquired through the merger.

Freedom Fibre’s CEO, Neil McArthur, said:

“This strategic merger leverages the strengths of both Freedom Fibre and VX UK to create a larger, stronger, and more diverse business backed by two significant investors with ambitions for growth.  We are delighted to be joining forces with the VX team and are hugely excited about the future potential of the newly combined business.”

Freedom Fibre will continue to onboard new ISPs and is committed to working closely with its existing base of internet service provider partners, including TalkTalk, Fusion Fibre Group, and Squirrel Internet, to provide its customers with a plethora of choice on the Freedom Fibre network.

The company is excitedly looking ahead to integrating VX and LilaConnect within its operations, as Freedom Fibre Group move forward with a common and newly combined goal to make full-fibre broadband accessible across the North West and beyond.
