TalkTalk delighted as Freedom Fibre rolls out FTTP network to Irlam & Cadishead & Glazebrook

We are excited to be extending our full-fibre network to the ‘home of telcoms’, Irlam, Cadishead and Glazebrook in Manchester.

This area of Manchester was always going to be a preferred location to deliver our full-fibre network. It holds a lot of history for the team at Freedom Fibre as well as being home to our own Head Office, located in Irlam.

These towns have played an important role in UK telecoms over the years so it’s gratifying to be able to bring this once-in-a-lifetime upgrade to the area’s telecommunications networks.

Already engineers are progressing with the intention to start connecting customers (including ourselves) in Spring 2022.

Ruth Kennedy, Group Fibre Development Director at TalkTalk said, “We are delighted that Freedom Fibre has decided to extend their network into Irlam and Cadishead which has been a hub for our offices and homes for members of our staff for many years. TalkTalk’s roots can be found in Opal Telecoms which was formed in 1995 as a telephony reseller, providing fixed-line voice services to corporate customers. The company’s first bases in the North West were in Irlam and Warrington, which is one of the reasons why we are really pleased that Freedom Fibre is looking to extend their Full Fibre network in this area.”

If you’re interested in boosting your broadband experience, register your interest today and you could be going live as early as Spring 2022 with average speeds of up to 500Mb/s.
